How Will Evernorth Put Its XRP to Work?
The first phase will use strategies available through established institutional counterparties, with Evernorth’s investment and risk team overseeing allocations. The company said it selected Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo based on their infrastructure, capitalization, licensing and experience working with institutions.Founder and CEO Asheesh Birla said the company is “putting our treasury to work,” positioning active management as the difference between Evernorth and a vehicle that simply holds XRP.The strategy has been part of Evernorth’s model since before its public listing. The company has previously identified institutional lending, liquidity provision, DeFi yield strategies and capital-markets activity as potential methods for increasing XRP per share.Evernorth entered Nasdaq with approximately 473 million XRP and about $300 million in gross cash proceeds following completion of its business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II on October 9.

Why Is Hugo Jeandesboz Important to the Strategy?
The deployment program will be overseen by Chief Investment Officer Hugo Jeandesboz, who joined Evernorth from Coinbase Asset Management, where he served as co-chief investment officer and led its Solutions investment strategies.Jeandesboz also has experience in traditional fixed-income and institutional trading through previous roles at HSBC and Société Générale. At Evernorth, he is responsible for treasury allocation, liquidity management, counterparties and active management of the company’s XRP holdings.“That means a treasury strategy, a risk framework and counterparties you would be comfortable explaining to a public-company board,” Jeandesboz said. That distinction matters because earning returns on a cryptocurrency treasury introduces risks absent from straightforward custody. Lending can create borrower and counterparty exposure, liquidity strategies introduce market risk, and onchain deployment can add protocol and smart-contract risk.
When Will Evernorth Move XRP Onchain?
The second stage depends on further development of the XRP Ledger itself. Evernorth intends to allocate treasury capital directly into onchain lending and credit markets after the relevant native infrastructure is activated by validators and has demonstrated that it can operate reliably in production. The XRP Ledger has been developing protocol-level lending infrastructure that separates credit assessment from blockchain execution. The proposed XRPL lending system moved into validator voting earlier this year, with underwriting and borrower assessment handled offchain while repayment terms can be enforced at protocol level. That makes Evernorth’s announced DeFi expansion a future stage rather than an immediately available deployment channel. The company has not committed to a launch date or allocation for the onchain portion.

Can Active Management Increase XRP Per Share?
Evernorth’s central performance metric creates a different test from simply tracking the XRP price. If lending, liquidity and other strategies earn additional XRP faster than the company issues shares or incurs operating costs, XRP per share could increase even without further large token purchases. The reverse is also possible. Losses, counterparty failures or poorly performing DeFi positions could reduce treasury assets, while equity issuance could dilute the XRP represented by each share.Onchain yield also should not be treated as risk-free income. The XRP ecosystem has already shown that individual DeFi businesses can struggle to attract sustainable liquidity. Strobe Finance shut down an XRP-focused lending operation earlier this year after declining activity and funding pressure.Evernorth’s first deployments therefore represent an important test of its public-company model. Investors already have exposure to XRP’s price through XRPN; the next question is whether management can turn a large token inventory into incremental earnings without taking risks that outweigh the additional return.
